Why do we need a shower filter? Did you know that there is poisonous chlorine in your water?  The same water you use to drink, cook and bathe with on a daily basis.  Its a scary thought the amount of chlorine that you consume on a daily basis.

Its obvious that you would absorb the chlorine from tap water when you drink it, but what about when you shower?  Unfortunately most people do not realize that when you shower you are actually absorbing more chlorine, faster than when you drink it.  The pores in your skin opens up with the heat of the water and since chlorine vaporizes at a low temperature, it is easily absorbed into your skin.

Fortunately there is an easy way to get rid of this problem.  We recently purchased a Aquasana shower filter to replace our old shower head.  The shower filter has provided us with clean chlorine free water every time we take a shower.  Our skin and hair condition has improved and there is the added bonus of not absorbing all that nasty chlorine into our body everyday.

Is swine flu still something to be worried about?  This morning South Africa  reported its first death the swine flu after around 500 reported cases since mid June.  Even months after the initial frenzy over swine flu there are still lingering affects and cases still being reported.

Is this something to worry about though?  To put this in perspective here are some facts.  Each year over half a million Americans die from cancer,  over forty thousand people die from drunk driving related accidents each year.  5.4 million deaths world wide from smoking related diseases are reported each year.   And the whooping total for swine flu comes to an astounding 353.

Lets just say with standard precautions like washing your hands after using the bathroom, and not being exposed to sick people on a daily basis without proper procedure you will more than likely be just fine. No need to go buy new hazmat suits for the family.  Don’t worry folks, just another good old fashion media induced hype.

Another great Tour de France!  For Lance Armstrong to come back after 4 years and place third in my mind was incredible. I know a lot of you wanted him to win, however to even finish the TDF is an accomplishment most professional cyclists never do.  Then there are the team tactics. This year Lance sprung it upon team Astana. Contador was already signed and wasn’t going anywhere. So this year’s tour made for some uncomfortable moments.

Now we have the announcement that Lance has a new team. Team Radio Shack. Big bucks and lots of time. Johan Bruyneel will certainly be the director. Then he and Lance will sign the riders it will take for him to win next year. Contador did a great job this year and was the superior rider of the tour and won this year fair and square.  But I’m already waiting for next year!   Make sure you go visit Livestrong and help in Lance’s and others effort to lick cancer.
