We’ve been using one of those alkaline water ionizers for a while now and I must confess, I can’t live without it! What is a water ionizer? It’s a counter top device that filters then processes your water to create “alkaline anti-oxidant water”. You may of heard of alkaline diets and how they help you balance your pH? Many scientists believe that having a alkaline diet and drinking alkaline water has health benefits for us. Well this machine takes your tap water and creates a super healthy water for you.
Our diets are very heavy in “acid” foods and this helps balance you body’s natural pH. Many people have reported that by using the water they have had many health issues clear up. There are numerous studies on this type of water and all of them are positive. These water ioizers are considered a “medical device” in Korea and Japan, and it is estimated that one out of six households in Japan use ionized water for drinking. If you want to do research on this just google “water ionizers” and there is a wealth of information out there on this “fountain of youth” water.

Stop using bottled water and save thousands by using a water filter system. Think about it. Are you buying bottled water at a convenience store? It may be convenient but do you realize that you are buying water that costs cents per gallon from your home to over the cost of gasoline at $4.00 a gallon or more at the convenience store? That’s crazy! Plus since the chlorine has been removed from the water and then it sits on a shelf for weeks, well you get the picture. The water you’re getting isn’t always the greatest. Let’s not even get into how many of those plastic water bottles get disposed of every year. It’s estimated that over 30 billion a year. Yikes.
What we did is purchase a whole house filter from Better Water Store. We got the Aquasana Rhino EQ-300. This filter is what they call a “whole house filter” which means all of the water coming into the house gets filtered. That’s right including the laundry, shower, kitchen, everywhere. Cost was $799 including shipping and we had our plumber install it for $150 dollars. Works great!

Remodeling your kitchen? Updating? An Aquasana under counter filter makes a great addition for your kitchen. Affordable and super efficient, these water filters produce water at under 10 cents a gallon. Comparing that with bottled water at over $2.00 a gallon just makes good sense in these hard times.
What about those “pitcher” type filters like Britta? For one thing they are a lot of work! You have to fill them after every couple glasses of water and the cost per gallon is over 40 cents a gallon, over 4 times what the Aquasana filter costs per gallon.
Installation of the Aqusana AQ-4500 was easy, with great instructions and a installation video on the web site we purchased the filter through, Better Water Store. Shipping was included for free and they give a 60 day “no hassle” money back guarantee. So it’s taste before you buy. After we installed it we ran the filter for a few minutes to clean out the minute carbon dust from manufacturing the filter. Water tasted great and we are not creating more trash in our landfills. Over all a great experience and well worth it.

A whole house filter is a great way to get clean water throughout your home. It’s not just a water filter that is attached to your faucet or under your sink, it actually gets connect where the water comes into the house. Usually it put in the garage next to the hot water heater connect to the cold water intake before it goes into the hot water heater. After it’s installed you now have a “whole house filter”. The advantages of this type of filter is many.
You will now get a great shower without any chlorine smell. Your skin and hair will be in much better shape and you won’t be inhaling any of the chlorine fumes that your shower filter head produces. Next your clothes will be nicer, as once again you won’t have the effects of chlorine in your clothes washer. Much longer lasting dark colors especially those dark golf shirts that are so expensive. They will look good for a lot longer now. Lastly your dishwasher will have filtered water going through it. Much less water spots. All in all a great choice for our home.

Got a summertime vacation coming up and we decided to go to historic Williamsburg,VA for our vacation. Our kids who are 10 and 13 are really looking forward to it. We picked Williamsburg because it is a great place to combine a history trip with some fun. Historic Colonial Williamsburg is what they call the historic triangle. Jamestown the first English settlement, Yorktown the end of the revolutionary war and Colonial Williamsburg where you can go on Duke of Gloucester street and see a church where Thomas Jefferson and George Washington attended.
Next, you can have a lot of fun in Williamsburg. There are a lot of great restaurants, golf courses and shopping. Then there is Busch Gardens which is one of the great theme parks. Too warm? Then go to Water Country U.S.A, where you can cool off for hours at a time. So you see there is a lot to do in Williamsburg. The town is clean and not overly touristy. People are very friendly. This is our second time in Williamsburg and we still haven’t see it all. Check it out. We’re sure you’ll have a good time.

Looking for a “Aqua” filter? Aqua means water in Latin. And boy do we depend on it! Without water we would be in a world of hurt. Thousands of years ago before any kind of man made pollution we could mostly depend on our water supply not being contaminated. But now with all of the pollutants that are discarded in our water supply we would be foolish not to have some kind of filtration system in our homes to filter out those man made contaminants.
We picked the Aquasana AQ-4000 counter top system for our home. This simple low cost filter is however one of the most effective and advanced counter top filter being sold. It has a twin cartridge system that is very effective in filtering out contaminants at over 99% effectiveness. Cost was a very reasonable $99 dollars and that included free shipping from Better Water Store. Hook up must of took all of 3 minutes and we were filtering water. This system is California Health Services certified, along with Underwriters Laboratories. Kick in a multiple year Consumer Digest “Best Buy” and you got yourself a fine affordable filtration system.

The savings that come along with having a under the counter water filter, are actually pretty decent. If you have an under the counter filter all you have to do is buy the bottle you want to carry your water in, and then when the filter needs to be changed buy the filter. By doing installing one of these filters you can save you a little money, and even if it is just a little money remember it adds up over time.
Another way that having a filtration system is that it will save you money you won’t have to spend paying for gas each week to go to the store to buy more water. You will also save money by not having to drive, and take your bottles to be recycled. Also if you have plastic recyclables pick up in your area you will no longer have to pay each month for them to pick up your empty bottles. There is estimated that there are over 8 billion plastic water bottles disposed of each year. That’s a lot of plastic!

Thinking of remodeling your kitchen? Think about adding a water filter. With the cost of bottled water and the amount of contaminants that are in our municipal water supply it just makes a lot of sense to add a purification system. The costs of adding one in isn’t that expensive and once you get them installed the cost per gallon of filtered water is generally less than 10 cents a gallon, plus you aren’t dumping plastic bottles in our landfills. There are over 8 billion of those stinking plastic water bottles dumped into our landfills every year!
We got our filter though Better Water Store a large online supplier of filtration devices. Our choice was the Aquasana AQ-4501 under the sink system. Installation was easy and the cost was one of our least expensive pieces of our remodel. Total cost for the filter delivered was less than $175 dollars. The Aquasana system is Consumer Digest “Best Buy” rated. The twin cartridge system needs replaced every six months for less that $50 dollars and insures crystal clean water every day for your family.

Most people by now know the advantages of drinking filtered water: reduced contaminants, better taste and a huge cost savings over bottled water. What you may not know is that an undercounter water filter system can provide long term savings and convenience over tradition countertop or faucet style water filter systems.
An undercounter water filter system will initially cost more to purchase and install than a countertop, faucet or pitcher system but over time it will pay for itself. For one thing, an undercounter system is infinitely more convenient than any other available system. Once installed, it blends in with your existing faucet – saving counter space and allowing the dispensing of fresh water for any use.
A faucet filter is bulky and prone to breakage, especially when washing dishes. Pitcher filters are only good one pitcher at a time and take up room in your refrigerator. Countertop filters take up space and can be easily knocked over. All these filter systems have shorter a lifespan than an undercounter filter system. Once installed, an undercounter system will be protected from damage and will only require periodic replacement of the filter itself. Not having to replace an entire system every few years will save you time and money!
